Absolutely!! The patient and humanity comes first and it is clear judgement should not cloud the oaths taken. Do a search in the doctrines of any major religion and it is readily apparent.

Dr.'s that have personal objections to certain procedures should let patients know in advance. In that way personal issues can't cloud professional situations.

RN here thanking you for speaking up about this. In my 31 yr career I never once heard an MD object to the moral beliefs of ANY pt that would determine the Dr's tx decisions. I believe it's called "personal values affecting delivery of care", an entire course in college.

Walgreens lost my business when they said their pharmacists can refuse to dispense misoprostol on religious grounds. Your job is to dispense meds not judge the client or their doctor or their decisions

@kurteichenwald Sadly, even if no doctors withhold care on this basis, the very fact that they are permitted to do so under the new rule will have a chilling effect on patients--some will not seek services from docs they perceive, accurately or not, as likely to withhold care.Thanks. You can't force a medical practitioner to violate their own personal ethics/religious principles. Chose a different Dr.

There are places without a choice in practitioners. The profession does not need providers who cannot serve everyone.
