Why is it that quacks and antivaxers think the only thing science-based medicine is good for is trauma, as though orthopedic surgeons were the only practitioners of "Western" medicine who do anything useful?https://twitter.com/GansenJared/status/1122718576408809472 …

Trix I agree!I have a different opinion on how to get there.I haven't taken this lightly and understand the possible unintended consequences of my decision. My personal experiences with Western medicine has been great when I needed somebody to screw broken bones back together.

Oh yes - if they are dying they cry UNCLE and defer to the eeevilll doctors, as they know unicorns and rainbows won't save them, but the rest of us are all shills of big pharma ; 0.

Orthopods are well known to be the most effective and convincing shills. But it's only a matter of time before "woke" health care "consumers" are onto them!

I'm sure it has nothing to do with obvious, objectively observable results.

Well we do a great job of making significant and objectively noticeable/quantifiable impact on the lives of our patients through our interventions in a relatively short time frame with very high success rates!

Even most woo-believers are not so far gone that they'll ignore real medicine when they can see it working. The problem is that most modern medicine does not work at the level of the naked eye, w/observable results for even the dumbest of laypeople in the length of a short video.

Because quacks, chiropractors, naturopaths and homeopaths haven't figured out a convincing "treatment" for trauma/orthopedic problems yet?

Because, if you have a cold, you can treat it with BS and be OK. If you have a fractured tibia, you need to treat it with real medicine. So.. obviously the BS that causes you no pain is... oh fuck it, I lost my train of thought trying to get into that messed up antivaxer mindset.
