I saw Young open for Pearl Jam in 94. He played the whole set with his back to the audience. Then he leaves, and instead of PJ, Young comes back on stage on a giant xylophone which he proceeded to pling on and wail. It was so bad it was surreal, and he wouldn’t end!

He eventually was getting steadily booed and I think the last straw was someone threw a shoe at him. And this was indoors mind you at Constitution hall in the middle of DC. Someone decided walking home barefoot, in DC, was better than listening to Young playing another minute.
