It also looks very weak to the researching parent - who is capable of parsing the science from the messaging - when leading vaccine authorities steadfastly refuse to engage in conversation with journalists who ask relevant questions about vaccine safety.

Del BigTree has NO scientific NOR journalistic credentials. The closest he comes is being PRODUCER of TV medical shows (and antivax films) It's also relevant to point out that a common tactic by denialists is "just asking questions", even when evidence shows general consensus.
