"Safe." You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means . Then there's the issue of suffering. Getting the chicken pox is an utterly miserable experience. I remember when I got it when I was 7. Horrible. What an idiot, but this is how antivaxers think.🤦‍♂️https://twitter.com/forrestmaready/status/1108836747562094606 …

Chickenpox parties served to safely immunize children against chickenpox AND adults against shingles. Ever since science came to the rescue, you need at least TWO vaccines (plus booster shots). Guess who’s more happy? People? Or Pharma, Inc.? Bring back the PoxParties!

And that doesn't even take the risk of shingles into account after the children grow up.

I'm sure Dr Gorski knows this, but fr the rest: The only way to get shingles is to get exposed to chickenpox, as shingles is a recurrence of varicella. Forrest is so very wrong about that as well. https://www.cdc.gov/shingles/index.html …

I had chicken pox back before the vaccine was widely available, and I live in perpetual fear of shingles. My grandma had a mild case, and she described it as the worst pain she'd experienced. I can't imagine anyone willingly getting exposed 🤦

When you turn 50 you can get a vaccine called Shingrex (I think) constant nerve pain is what shingles left my mother with 😔

Forrest thinks he has that base covered, but misses that childhood exposure to chicken pox does NOT immunise adults against shingles. These guys will march half-way 'round the world to avoid evidence that the naturalistic fallacy isn't their friend.

I got chicken pox as an adult and I wish I had known that I needed a booster. The consequence now is reoccurring shingles on my inner thighs which is extremely painful and leaves me unable to walk properly. He can go drop on his head.

My beautiful daughter has several scars on her face from chicken pox. She contracted it as a baby at daycare.
