Scientific revolutions don’t function by overturning previous theories but by greatly expanding on them. Relativity doesn’t disprove Newton’s laws of motion, it expands on them to high speed and density. If your theory is overturned by a single observation, it was a hypothesis.

To be the president of a real professional society you typically have chairs of departments, national leaders with extensive academic credentials, a 300 page CV and major contributions to a field. For AAPS the only professional criteria is, “do you have your own stethoscope?”

It's difficult to believe that a person who is bright enough to have gotten into and through medical school doesn't understand how science and medicine work. Rather, I think this demonstrates that intelligence and education do not guarantee invulnerability to dogmatic fixations.

You realize, of course, that anti-vaxxers will turn around and use the changes in the vaccine schedule to argue that doctors don't know what they're doing. Sort of like creationists saying "Science changes but the Bible doesn't."

the number of shots keeps growing and growing. And for most the dose is the same regardless of patient weight and age. Only size of needle changes. Any other pediatric drugs like that? One size fits all.
