Yes. Hardcore antivax is driven by attorney fees, book sales, selling cures for autism, etc. Exchanges of views irrelevant to them. Please do not support their cause by entering their logic-defying circus. However, do share your knowledge with the public, so they wont be conned.

Respectfully disagree. As tweeted: we should avoid the label "antivax". Most of the people coined "antivax" are simply concerned about the safety - and welcome science and dialogue. Imo, both sides should accept invitations to share view points and be challenged by others'.

Antivaxers frequently try to falsely label themselves as "vaccine safety advocates." They are nothing of the sort.

Curious: how would you know that somebody raising questions about the safety of vaccines did that "falsely"?

Because they typically dismiss the evidence that contradicts them.

Also, when talking about "vaccine safety," antivaxers often make up nonexistent "risks" of vaccination (e.g., autism, SIDS) and/or vastly exaggerate actual risks of vaccination and/or vastly downplay the benefits.

I could provokingly propose that that the people writing on this thread might be very reluctant to listen to scientific evidence, which contradicted that "all vaccines are always beneficial for all" - pls make sure that equal standards apply🙂

Provoking solely for the sake of provoking. How entertaining. Do you acknowledge that there is an antivaccine movement and that they are a threat to public health?

I will continue to provoke (with the hope of also sparking a bit of reflection): There is an antivaccine movement, but there is also an almost religious provaccine movement and it is also a threat to public health: prematurely closing research questions and polarising the debate

Can you give an example showing how this “almost religious provaccine movement” is a threat to public health? I’m genuinely curious, btw 😊

I'm more interested in her portraying vaccine science as religious faith rather than science. Thats a common tactic of science denialists of all stripes, for example, climate science deniers and creationists.

That’s a pretty clear straw man, Doctor😬 Lets keep it civil and without assumptions/interpretations🙏🏻 We, as skeptics, might just learn something 😊
