I rarely block people. But just did. This person weighs in on a significant portion of my tweets with the same "integrative health" noise. Repeats same sh*t over & over & over, regardless of facts. Now he will say I don't want to have a dialogue. But I'm done! When do u block?

If someone repeatedly gets on my nerves, I don't hesitate to mute or block. If someone starts spewing racism or bigotry, I don't hesitate to block. It's not a big deal. Just block assholes, bigots, trolls, and highly irritating people, and don't apologize for it!

Also, I block if I suspect a bot or Russian troll, and I don't worry overmuch if I misidentified the account as such.

Absolutely. Block at the first sign of any kind of assholery.

This. I block if and when someone shows themselves to be not with my time or incapable of respecting my boundaries (see: not worth my time). If I tell someone to leave me alone and they fail to, that's a blocking. If someone is a bigot, that's a blocking. Etc.

I am directly related to a number of alt med woo woo types, bigots, and gun nuts and so I don't feel I am at risk of establishing an echo chamber for myself.

I’ve muted a guy that frequently comments on gun control tweets but adds zero to the conversation except tired tropes that are painfully predictable. I haven’t blocked (yet) because I don’t want to give him the satisfaction. Bloody pseudo-academics.

I agree. If someone came to my door & said weird or ugly stuff i would close the door in their face. Science discussions are helpful. Attacks are not.
