The result is that the science advocate is buried in faux polite irrelevant questions. This increases the chances that the science advocates will become frustrated or angry and lash out, allowing the "sea lions" to portray them as unreasonable. 2/

I've experienced this myself, when a vaping advocate responded to a Tweet of mine questioning the safety claims of vapers. They Retweeted and tagged fellow vapers, who in turn tagged more vapers. Before I knew it I was buried in notifications of responses that lasted days. 3/

It was a veritable tsunami. All I could do was to start blocking, which I did. This experience is why I now have such a low threshold for blocking vapers. They were worse than antivaxers as far as swarming goes. I've never experienced anything like it before or since. 4/4
