I am amused. @drgarynull, not content with labeling medical errors and iatrogenic deaths as the third cause of death in the US (they're not, not even close) is now trying to say they're the #1 cause of death with a bullet! 1/ http://prn.fm/wikipedia-supporting-dark-side-medicine/ …

To put that number in perspective, there were only 2,744,248 deaths in the US in 2016 according to the CDC, of which approximately 750,000 occur in hospitals. 3/https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/deaths.htm …

That means that
@drgarynull is so innumerate as to think that he can blithely claim that 36% of ALL deaths each year in the US are due to medical error or iatrogenic causes, all without explaining how those deaths get reassigned from the previously attributed causes. 4/Show this thread -
I mean, how many years deaths from cancer (598,038/yr) actually due to "iatrogenesis" have to have been misattributed to contribute to 987,507 deaths? From heart disease (598,038/yr)? From accidents (161,374/yr), respiratory disease (154,596/yr), stroke (142,142/yr), etc.? 5/

For Null to be correct, a truly staggering number of kills by doctors have to be shifted from those other top causes of death in the statistics maintained by the CDC, in order for the known number of yearly deaths (2.7M) to remain constant. It's a zero sum game, after all. 6/

Methinks
@MarkHoofnagle would have a field day with@drgarynull's idiotic innumerate nonsense. 7/7Show this thread

After we killed every person who died in the hospital we would have to leave the hospital and start killing people on the street until an additional 250k were dead. Why not just finish the job and say physicians are responsible for 100% of deaths.

Their diaries must look odd: “Get up in the morning, death, death, death, death, death, death, death – lunch- death, death, death -afternoon tea - death, death, death - quick shower…" Eddie Izzard

That's an oddly specific number. Hovering just below a million, as if he's trying to sell some property by drawing in visits to generate a bidding war. Or, ya know, just making things up. If it drives traffic to his supplements store, well, I guess lying liars lie lots.
