So... one should just give up on skepticism? Of course it's hard. It's still worthwhile. Fighting partisanship is like fighting CAM. I don't see tribal blindness as a viable or desirable alternative.

For a self-proclaimed skeptic you sure like your straw men. No one here is arguing for "tribal blindness." We're merely pointing out that ideology, thinking, and skepticism are not necessarily incompatible, nor is ideology necessarily "tribalism," which seems to be your bugaboo.

Human nature at work. We have to recognize our ability to prioritize belief over knowledge no matter who we are or else we can fall ass-backwards in our biases.

Honest interest here in a conviction that is (a) held by a group of people that could be summarised under IDW and (b) ideologically biased. BTW Jordan Peterson alone does not count as darkweb, ok?

Being skeptical of religion doesn’t protect from being bigoted or misogynist. The great lie of that skeptical movement is that they have the market cornered on skepticism. It’s not true. Most people are great skeptics of other people’s overvalued ideas and terrible at their own.

That’s why it’s always been such an error to assume intellectual superiority simply because you’ve rejected one, particularly popular, type of ideologic poison. People can be perfectly rational, and genius smart and still compartmentalize some really disgusting ideologic poison.

As a skeptic, I can get onboard with this as long as it's a condemnation of the latter and not the former. If not, then I find this tweet disappointing.
