Actually, I DO know my guess was not far from what actually happened. I know based on a Danish language news report. Gøtzsche said he agreed to speak because he shared PIC'S opposition to "mandatory" vaccination but didn't realize he'd share the stage with hard core antivaxers.

And yes, it was the Twitter shitstorm that let Gøtzsche know that RFK Jr., Mary Holland, Toni Bark, and the PIC lawyers are antivaccine. It was the Twitter shitstorm that let him know that
@picphysicians is an antivaccine group disguised as an "informed consent" advocacy group.1 reply 0 retweets 5 likes -

Basically, this isn't my first rodeo. I've been around the block a few times and seen doctors like Gøtzsche be suckered by antivaxers before. Because he's so hostile to big pharma he was an easy mark.

So what was
@picphysicians goal in getting Gøtzsche to speak at its antivax quackfest? Obviously it was to use his reputation to burnished it's own. If Gøtzsche had appeared, there'd be pictures all over social media of him with antivaxers like RFK Jr.2 replies 0 retweets 5 likes -

So spare me your sanctimonious condescension. It turns out that I fit far more right about this than wrong.

Thank you, that’s what you should have tweeted instead of your speculation.

And it’s not condescension it’s concern — people will continue to see your mistake, look to verify and see that you are wrong. You know as well as I do that with twitter threading it’s unlikely people will see your correction/update.

Eleanorina? What "mistaken claim"? What "correction"? You seem to be bent on misrepresenting the situation.

She thinks that becsuse one Tweet in a now five day old 25-Tweet Tweetstorm is no longer applicable because the situation has changed that I should delete every single Tweet in the Tweetstorm and abase myself for having been wrong.

Clearly, she does not understand how Twitter works.

Clearly she also hasn't quite grasped how the Gøtzsche situation played out. The PIC website still has him listed as attending, by the way... Though as a friend pointed out it could be another Peter Gøtzsche of Copenhagen & Cochrane founder. https://physiciansforinformedconsent.org/workshop/ pic.twitter.com/ZOyPBOPCu2
