Yes. Hardcore antivax is driven by attorney fees, book sales, selling cures for autism, etc. Exchanges of views irrelevant to them. Please do not support their cause by entering their logic-defying circus. However, do share your knowledge with the public, so they wont be conned.

Respectfully disagree. As tweeted: we should avoid the label "antivax". Most of the people coined "antivax" are simply concerned about the safety - and welcome science and dialogue. Imo, both sides should accept invitations to share view points and be challenged by others'.

Is it your view that the other speakers at this workshop, e.g. Toni Bark, Robert F Kennedy, "are simply concerned about the safety - and welcome science and dialogue"? I invite you to read

Here he is scheduled to speak at a workshop for the antivax doctors group with the Orwellian name Physicians for Informed Consent (@picphysicians). 1/ https://twitter.com/Rosewind2007/status/1096336832189657088 …Show this thread2 replies 0 retweets 11 likes -

The platform is not neutral. It's heavily biased. Thus it's not a "science and dialoge". it's their attempt to legitimize well refuted antivax claims.

Please read this: http://bit.ly/2V3wuKy : I very much agree that "the [antivaccine] label too quickly assumes that there are “two sides”to every question, and that the “two sides” are polar opposites. This “you’re either with us or against us” thinking is unfit for medicine".

Oh, dear. That's Peter Doshi, who is at the very least antivaccine-sympathetic and has written some really awful articles about vaccines.https://www.skepticalraptor.com/skepticalraptorblog.php/peter-doshi-anti-vaccine-false-authority/ …

Not only that, but Peter Doshi had been known to speak at—you guessed it—antivaccine conferences, for instance this conference organized by one of the oldest antivax groups in the US.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/crank-conferences-a-parody-of-science-based-medicine-that-can-suck-in-even-reputable-scientists-and-institutions/ …

It turns out that Peter Doshi was also an HIV/AIDS denialist. Whether get still is our not, I don't know, but he signed a statement doubting AIDS causation by HIV.https://www.forbes.com/sites/stevensalzberg/2014/11/03/shocking-report-on-flu-vaccine-is-neither-shocking-nor-correct/#7854e7fe78a7 …

In any case, I find it irresponsible in the extreme for
@bmj_latest to have Peter Doshi as an editor.1 reply 0 retweets 5 likes -
