Why are they always acting like this is new? As the targets of blood libel and The Protocols will tell you, the way to dehumanize others, to lower the threshold for violence against them, is spin a conspiracy about how they are a threat. The Caravan is just the latest example.

Racism and hate always have conspiracies at their heart. And it’s why we should treat spreading conspiracy theories themselves as shameful as spreading hate speech and racial epithets. Conspiracy Theory is atrocious human behavior that spreads ignorance, bigotry and violence.

Indeed. It's the idea that "I know secrets that the sheeple don't." It makes conspiracy mongers feel superior.
