In Malaysia, govt healthcare is heavily subsidized; clinic visits are often free. If time or location don't permit, there's a robust private healthcare ecosystem. Both systems can refer you to the other, so you can go from seeing a govt MO to a private specialist & vice versa.

I have about 26% payroll deductions, and I'm in a higher bracket than many, and because of that I never have to worry about healthcare costs, and I know my family will never have to. I think that's a fine trade. Universal healthcare rocks.

I pay top tax in DK. It's worth it. Subsidized prescriptions, free dental (including orthodontics) up to 18, college and trade schools are paid for, excellent parental leave, subsidized childcare, subsidized elder care. What's not to like?
