Funny, but Obamacare-like systems with public options work quite well in several European countries. Germany comes to mind first.https://twitter.com/daveweigel/status/1068520795868061699 …

Netherlands, ACA closely resembles the Dutch "Insurance with conscience." https://international.commonwealthfund.org/countries/netherlands/ … One of the stultifying aspects of healthcare debate is how no one realizes fully nationalized systems are a tiny minority of systems (3)- Canada, GB, NZ.

...which, incidentally, work really well, and cheaply.

I don't know, the highest pt satisfaction is in the Netherlands. France is thought to be the most egalitarian and comprehensive, but it's not nationalized. There are good reasons - esp in this country - to not want govt owning the systems. Just think about it for a minute.

Yes and no. Private enterprise paid by government in the USA seems wasteful and corrupt. Nationalised health is transparent and poor: money is spent for optimum good not individual patient satisfaction.

What I’m suggesting is that the US will politicize provision of reproductive health services and anything else the holy rollers find sinful. Also, I’ve worked at VA hospitals throughout my training, and um, no thanks.

Yup. No abortion. No contraceptive pills. No morning after pills. No reproductive health services for women except to help them breed.

Good points. Sorting out the US healthcare mess has issues whichever way you go. Look at how private prisons have worked out.
