is there any lazier and insufferable form of protest than judging classic TV, film, or books thru the self-righteous prism of 2018 'wokeness'? Seriously, take your Animal House and Birth of a Nation op-ed's and crawl back into your safe spacehttps://twitter.com/HuffPost/status/1067972666622189568 …

Same. I used to watch this as a teenager in the '80s with my siblings and comment that this Santa was the worst Santa in any Christmas show. The saving grace was that all the jerks realize in the end...that they were jerks.

Right - we just didn't have the 2018 vocabulary. It was more like, "Santa goes from thin to fat in hours. That cannot be healthy!" and "Hermey's boss is a jerk!" And also, *I* wanted the spotted elephant.

You're remembering it wrong. Everyone at the North Pole realized they had been awful. Rudolph's dad, Donner, had gone off to look for him. When Rudolph & Hermey returned, they were welcomed back & accepted as they were. This all happened well before the fog rolled in.

I would say that Mr. Oswalt also doesn’t seem to recognize humor.
