Any hipster who wins about how MP3s don't "reveal whole sound" (lossy compression) but will listen to cassettes deserves the crappy sound and tape jams. Ugh!

Or how often they broke. Or the fun of fast forwarding and rewinding to get to that favorite song. But wait! Did I flip the cassette and now I have to RW instead FF? Why don’t we just go back to 8 tracks? And get off my lawn!

When I was a child before CD’s the ONLY selling point of cassette over vinyl was portability and the opportunity to copy tapes. The same can be done w/cd with better sound now. This has got to be an affectation.

The one thing that was superior about tapes for a while (when CDs were a thing but before digital had taken over) was being able to pause at a specific place in an audiobook. CDs actually sucked for that.

Cassettes were fine for voice, except for the jams. They sucked for music. And I say this as someone who bought a lot of blank tapes to record friend's albums.

There was nothing like the sound of a cassette that had been sitting in a hot car all summer. I mean that literally. Nothing else sounded quite like it.

Crossley’s record player fidelity is crap. Their player produce none of the warmth vinyl should have. Cassettes would sound awful.

I have a lot of pencils around my house from the 90's that are feeling neglected because I'm not using them to fix a cassette.

The real fun was trying to get the tape out of the machine when it wound itself inside the workings. Good times!
