And I don’t understand either. If they’re going to go to the computer, or the county clerk, or the DMV to register, why not streamline the process and automate it?? Are you concerned “certain people” will get registered who would otherwise not “get off their asses”??

Why the hell not? American expat living in Japan. When you move in Japan you are automatically registered and your voting card is mailed to you before every election, which is, of course, held on the weekend. Five minutes total to vote, including the walk there and back.

Republicans couldn't steal elections if that's the way things worked here. We need to do away with the electoral college system too. One person, one vote.
