Whenever I hear this phrase (or variants thereof), I ask: What does this even MEAN?https://twitter.com/stales/status/1057354694534877184 …

Dr. Gorski, very respectfully, our so called "
#healthcare" system is set up to reward the care of the sick, whereby profit is tied to "RVU" which generates more revenue the sicker someone is. This is as opposed to a model such as the VA system or Kaiser. Ask@KoushikReddyMD also.2 replies 2 retweets 10 likes -

Nearly every time I've encountered this slogan, it's in the context of promoting alternative and/or integrative medicine, the idea being that somehow conventional medicine ignores health and "integrative" medicine does not. It's a trite, but ultimately meaningless, slogan.

Absolutely couldn't disagree more, Dr. Gorski. Preventive Medicine is not alternative and not integrative medicine. It's medicine as Hippocrates intended. Treatment of people with therapeutic lifestyle change should always come before
#pharma. I'm sorry we disagree, Dr. Gorski.3 replies 1 retweet 3 likes -
It's also direly needed. Health care systems are pretty much unsustainable, over half the adult population diagnosed with chronic disease. On the other hand, a lot of people and companies getting very wealthy on the backs of the sick. Indeed, it's a sick care system.

One thing, Ken, that I will agree with Dr. Gorski on that he says is that you tend to conflate
#integrativemedicine together with#functionalmedicine and#lifestylemedicine. They are different. Only#lifestylemedicine is recognized as the mainstream, the default, others are not.2 replies 1 retweet 2 likes -
Dr. Garg, I don't think I conflate these, though I often list them together. While I probably support
#LifestyleMedicine the most, I think they all bring something to the table to help#ConventionalMedicine, for those who want help. Especially for chronic disease.3 replies 1 retweet 1 like -
By listing them together one gets impression you consider equivalent. I agree with Dr. Gorski that there is a lot of quackery and deception in the world of
#IntegrativeMedicine, that's exactly why my goal is to certify in that field as well as#functionalmedicine so I can end it1 reply 1 retweet 1 like -
Fair comment, not my intent. I also agree that there is quackery and deception in the world of
#IntegrativeMedicine as there is in#Pharma and#ConventionalMedicine. Goal is to improve Medicine by separating the wheat from the chaff. I commend your efforts.1 reply 1 retweet 1 like -
Thank you, Ken. Appreciate your understanding. Sham controlled trials are calling out age-old practices in conventional medicine. Medical Reversal is real and is now required reading for ALL University of Chicago Pritzker school of medicine students. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3238324/ …
