It is unethical to sell a placebo as treatment. Would you like to be treated by an undisclosed placebo for any of this condition: heart deseace, fracture, UTI, pancreatitis, corneal degeneration, prostate cancer...to name a few

As is many kinds of surgeries. I'll prefer acupuncture (placebo) to surgery (also a placebo) since the outcome is the same.

Prayer is theatrical placebo and works just as well as acupuncture and it’s free. If all the “we should let people use placebo effect” for actual treatment were truly ethical they should be recommending religion first line over the expensive placebos like acupuncture
