Attending a talk on big data and health now. He's talking about 7 different "-omes." Nowhere is mentioned the concepts of overdiagnosis and overtreatment. It'd be interesting to ask whether any of the interventions proposed decreases mortality or prolongs overall survival.

Not generally a good place to learn about medicine but reminded of this: Dr. House: Give him a whole body scan. Dr. Cameron: You hate whole body scans. Dr. House: 'Cause they're useless. Could probably scan every one of us and find five different doodads that look like cancer.
