This is an interview for a job that is a lifetime appointment and from which, for all practical purposes, Kavanaugh can't be fired. It's not a criminal trial. Treating its evidentiary standards as though it were a criminal trial is, again, dishonest.

And there were people who thought Joe was going to be a decent guy just because he doesn't like Trump.

Yeah, basically.

Maryland has no statute of limitations for sexual assault. But yes, this isn't a criminal trial--it's more like a job interview.

Exactly my response this morning. Yes, BK gets legal presumption of criminal innocence. NO, I don’t want this level of moral and ethical nonsense in the character and behavior of a possible JUDGE, at ANY level.

Criminal innocence aside, his morals are definitely questionable as well. Since it IS a lifetime appointment, we need a person of respectable moral standing; Kavanaugh is questionable, so no appointment. Only fair after what they did (or didn't do) re: Garland.

No statute of limitations in MD for serious sex crimes, apparently.

Not getting one of the hardest jobs to get isn't that big of a punishment. Lots of people with similar credentials, who didn't try and rape anyone, do not get that job
