I didn't tell anyone for almost 40 years. Not even my ex-husband.

I kept quiet for years as well. And it didn’t happen just once. (I mean only was “technically” rape.) a lot of people still don’t know about it. Oh cool, another thing to fuck me up for the rest of my life

I've spent my career working with children and adults who've been the victim of sexual assault and the ignorence of men has been a constant theme. And that ignorence is expressed in every part of our society from home and work to government policy making.

Yeah, that’s pretty embarrassing. What did you think before?

Same here. I thought not assaulting people was normal and that assault was rare. Sadly, I was naive but I'm learning.

Yep. As women in college in the 80's it was pretty much our part time job to dodge gropes and suss out rapists. But these guys should all tell us again how boys should be allowed their "youthful indiscretions".

My landlord’s son touched me on my butt & tried to kiss me in 2008. I was embarrassed that I froze & couldn’t stop it. I did go to the police after friends told me to. I told my husband after 3 days b/c I needed to. But it was hard to tell people I couldn’t fend the guy off.
