Here's an even bigger problem with this. The child is a separate entity, and subjecting a child to a completely unproven treatment ignores the rights of that child as a separate entity with his own rights. That the parents worked for the money matters not at all to me.

This is my 4-part post on this clinic. What is offered there is NOT an "experimental therapy." It is a secret and unproven concoction of chemotherapy drugs injected intra-arterially plus a dubious immunotherapy.https://respectfulinsolence.com/2018/07/03/clinica-0-19-not-making-dipg-history-in-monterrey-part-1/ …

Exactly. We don’t just allow EVERY charlatan to operate without restraint so long as their mark entered into the transaction willingly and without government subsidy. The FTC has a responsibility to the public which includes consumer protection.

The clinic is in Mexico, though. So the FTC really can't do much.

Exactly! People do not own their children. They are not possessions. They are independent humans to whom they owe a duty of care, not possessions to be experimented on at will. Inflicting painful, ineffective and unnecessary medical treatment fails children.

Plus, when these treatments fail, and usually make the patient worse off than if they’d undergone conventional treatment, MORE public money is needed when the gravely ill child is rushed to ER :(

In No More Measles! I explain that the US federal government regulates what drugs can be marketed in the US and the state governments regulate medical practice, to protect the public against snake oil merchants and phony or incompetent practitioners.
