This is happening. In the United States. Diabetics are dying because they can no longer afford their insulin. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2018/09/01/641615877/insulins-high-cost-leads-to-lethal-rationing …

Epi-pens a big issue as well. Might be high time to reign in BigPharma.

This is criminal greed. I often can’t afford (a different) medicine and without I become very ill. When I can’t make ends meet, I try to sleep as much as I can until I can afford the medicine again, to avoid the pain and discomfort. But I’m lucky- I just purchased insurance.

Health insurance cost me almost half of my monthly earnings, but medicine costs more, and I literally can’t live without it. I’m grateful to be alive and I try not to complain- but I wanted someone to know one of the ways in which a person’s greed can make others suffer.

According to the Excelsior (a news paper in Mexico), overall costs for diabetes seem to be 1,300 pesos/month, which are almost 20x cheaper than in the US, we also have our Seguro Social and Seguro Popular that will get you the medicines for free.

Expanded Medicaid covers people who do work. And what is wrong with ensuring that all people have access to medical care and medicine regardless of employment status?

I don't understand the justification of high prices for something that's such an old and well established drug. I can see the justification in someways for newer recently developed stuff, but this is just absurd.
