Well, given that homeopathy is water and has no therapeutic effect at all, she might have a point. Unfortunately, however, she leaves out the opportunity cost of choosing quackery over actual medicine that can cause harm by letting disease progress.https://twitter.com/ChrisKasulke/status/1033833145127190528 …

The harm done by prescription drugs far outweighs that done by homeopathic remedies. Let's keep the panic in perspective, shall we?!

I suspect homeopathy's initial success, back around 1800, was precisely due to this, when doing nothing was often better than the treatments offered back then.

Still waiting for proof of efficacy of homeobollocks.... Actually, still waiting for one of these quacks to turn up with the cure for my cancer that they promised....

Prescription drugs are prescribed by qualified and regulated medical professionals and dispensed by pharmacists. Homeopathic drugs are often "prescribed" by non-qualified and unregulated lay persons and are either OTC or illegally obtained (with a few minor exceptions).

In many jurisdictions, there are professional obligations and legal liability on prescribers and pharmacists that simply do not exist with lay persons and homeopathic drugs.

Oh yeah, those pesky side effects from Rx. "Actual medicine". Pill-for-every-ill and more for the side effects. Might have healed with Lifestyle or Integrative approaches. No defense, better deflect by shouting "Quackery".

This is probably how homeopathy got its start (late 18th century)and caught on. At that time, going to a mainstream med practitioner was worse than doing nothing at all, which is what homeopathy was then and still is.

Also....can we talk about this horrific waste of water? Maybe its because I live in the southwest, but thinking about the amount of water wasted on the (supposed) multiple succussions really irritates me.

Londoners drink Thames water passed through 20 people already so the saying goes. If Homeopathy is true what does that say about the "s**t they process?
