Yeah, I think a bit of cynicism is a good thing. It’s just that, Dad, there are over a 100 different cancers. There’s no magic pill. And my onc is a good guy who is not collecting a big bag of money with a dollar sign on it from Big Pharma every week!

My standard argument against this is that whoever first published quality data and offered these miracle cures would win a Nobel Prize and make a billion dollars. There's no incentive for any of the millions of people who work in health care NOT to go rogue.
