But it’s not treatment for the brain cancer. And please don’t argue semantics with me, my mom has GBM & we as a family made the decision to stop treatment and place her in hospice. That was the best quality of life she could have at this point. She’s been in hospice for 2 months

And is still doing well. Hospice is not just for last days; it can be beneficial for months. I am a believer. But treatment for the cancer? Yes that has ended as it is not in her best interest. And that is ok.

Why must we 'battle' or 'fight' or 'struggle' with cancer. Sounds like we applaud suffering. People have cancer, and die from it. This is not their fault, and not because they did not 'fight ' hard enough. People need palliative care at the end of life.

Recurrent theme in the media wit celebrities. Then inevitably, they die within days. Shows how underused palliative care and hospice are. I believe the average patient is on hospice less than a week. Tragic waste of a great resource

I know. I just heard that John McCain died. That he died so soon after going into hospice tells me that he should probably have gone into hospice at least a couple of weeks ago or even a couple of months. Hospice is painfully underutilized.
