I think the distinction here is “treatment,” implying treating a disease process with the goal of improvement. This doesn’t say he’s discontinued medical “care,” but I totally get where you’re coming from.
Hospice and palliative care are medical CARE. They aren't TREATMENT. How are you an MD and not know this? I learned this in a 6 week CNA course. He won't continue attempts to cure. The statement says he's not continuing TREATMENT. He will continue to receive CARE.
