I believe this, but I also believe there is an alarmingly vocal minority contingent in the Republican Party who really do want to weaken or eliminate school vaccine mandates. I know. I think it's a matter of strength of opinion - most Americans are pro-vax, but among people who vote based on the issue, reality-based decisionmaking is a minority.
