It's Twitter. Unless you want another Tweetstorm or to—oh, you know—actually read some of the blog posts I linked to, shorthand is necessary. I oppose misinformed consent, which this bill mandates, all to frighten parents away from vaccinating. Which antivax group helped you?https://twitter.com/Right_to_Life/status/1006546627920875520 …

Should people be informed that several vaccines were created using cell lines derived from children aborted in the 1960s, or not?

I'm all for teaching how research works. If this is truly about informing people, why not give a full, unbiased, explanation of cell lines and how they are used in vaccines? I can understand the moral objection, but leaving out the science to push legislation is deceptive.

How is it leaving out science? For example, one our website, we go through everything in detail:https://rtl.org/prolife_issues/LifeNotes/VaccinesAbortion_FetalTissue.html …

You have about half a paragraph on what a cell line is, and 7 paragraphs of backstory about each fetus.

Yes, and that is intentional, because SB 1055 is designed to use emotive language to dissuade parents from vaccinating.

First of all, doctors won't literally say, "this immunizing agent was derived from aborted fetal tissue." Second, that's undeniably true. Third, it's not emotive, like, say, "This vaccine was made by aborting babies!" Give us a diff. unbiased alternative, and we'll consider it.

"(2) Before administering an immunizing agent derived from aborted fetal tissue to an individual, a health care provider shall notify the individual ... that the immunizing agent was derived from aborted fetal tissue." What does that section mean to you?

It means exactly what it says, and what it says misleads.
