I was a clinical counselor (Masters Level) and had to have malpractice insurance. We even spoke about it during college. I have never heard of a practitioner not holding liability insurance.

Understood Doctor. With all respect, practitioners here in Florida place a sign in the waiting area that cites the Florida statute and informs the patients that they have elected not to carry medical malpractice insurance

Indemnity insurance is mandatory in the UK. It is illegal to work as a physician, surgeon or dentist without it. If you are found to be without it you are struck off.

But not if you are a medically unqualified quack.

It's a requirement of doctor registration here, same for Nurse Practitioners and midwives who wish to practice privately. What planet do some of these people live on? It's not as if it's hard to find out
