What age does one become an adult these days? At school, some people left at 15 and 16 to set up home and have children. Some at 18 went to another city to study: at the very least we were adults then and responsible for any decisions we made, however stupid. Now?

Now we see a perpetual infantilism, perpetual demand, perpetual complaining. Do people now believe that all social relations are a matter of consumption, rather than difficult negotiation? always to be enjoyable and if not, subject to 'it's not fair!'
