    Following the incident, the warehouse was closed for the day. As other warehouses have stepped up, Gorillas is still delivering to Friedrichshain. As a consequence of the incident, we have asked our bike partners to review their battery maintenance processes.

    Yesterday, we temporarily stopped operations in our FHAIN warehouse. During regular maintenance, the battery of an e-bike caught fire. The situation has since been resolved and we are grateful that all our on-site staff is safe and well.

    We care about the safety & wellbeing of our riders. Gorillas provides all riders with pedelecs & safety gear, with rain capes & rain trousers. Not everyone likes to ride in the rain – we get that. But rainfalls provide no basis for unauthorised strikes.
