1) During the debate, the topic of covid deaths will undoubtedly come up. Just remember that 45 of 50 governors DID NOT force infected patients into nursing homes.
Why did they choose to put the most vulnerable at risk?

2) In CA, Gov. Newsom & Dept. of Public Health decided to place patients with confirmed or suspected infections in nursing homes, even if they were still sick. The nursing homes were NOT required to test the incoming patients.

9) And when you go one step further and look at the number of deaths/m, CA ranks 28th with 431 deaths per million.
And what about lethality? CA is far down the list at 1.9%, compared to NJ at a staggering 7.3%.
Is all of this worth the neverending lockdown? Only time will tell.

This didn't happen either, at least to the extent implied here. The biggest driver of infections in nursing homes was the staff themselves; infection *rates* in nursing homes went up in ALL states. The 40% deaths in US is due to population proportion.

1) the article states "the policy did not "force" nursing homes to accept COVID-positive patients. Nursing homes interpreted it this way."
