    Reminder that gatherings were in homes, unregulated crowds and not in licensed premises where seating, table service, social distancing and capacity caps were in place. Worth bearing in mind that if you over restrict regulated safe spaces then people will gather in less safe ways

    Woah - look at that gender divide. Football induced gatherings appear to have significantly accelerated the UK's third case wave.

    The guidance: can’t offer alcohol takeaway but can do delivery (& takeaway or click & collect of food/soft drinks). Off-licenses & supermarkets allowed to sell alcohol without restriction. Another way pubs are discriminated against & with wholly inadequate support.

    It's not enough to save thousands of hospitality businesses. Overheads are far more than the current grant payments and many won't survive long enough to make use of the this furlough extension

    We are extending furlough until the end of April 2021. We will continue to pay 80% towards wages of unworked hours - giving businesses and employees across the UK certainty into the New Year. Read more:

    It's about mental health. For some people, the loss of a local pub means the loss of their social network. A study conducted by found that people who have a local that they visit regularly tend to feel more socially engaged & contented. ❤️

    Really feel for the hospitality industry and those that work in it. They’ve done so much to ensure hygiene and safety is paramount, to the extent that the data suggests it’s not a high risk space, and now they have to close, yet again. Brutal. Really brutal.

    We know from the Government evidence, they used cases in the Far East to justify the tier system & closure of hospitality - the question is will the Government listen to evidence closer to home that supports the opening of Pubs

    It's an absolute DISGRACE. Shame shame shame on you .

    BREAKING NEWS: The Prime Minister announces a £1000 extra payment for wet led in December. This is not enough to cover costs & doesn’t go anywhere near enough to make up for the loss of December trade or avoid hardship for pub families. Already many publicans are in debt.
