Woman: An individual who self-identifies as a woman based on elements of importance to the individual, which may include gender identity, physiology, gender roles, behaviour, and expression.

Female is a biological designation unless it is part of your internally held gender id. A woman may be a biological designation or maybe not. Gender consists of internal and societal dimensions but your sex marker might be your gender marker. Either may relate or not to your GID.
