Parenting isn't about control, it needs a balance. Yes, spoiled children will run amuck, but fearful children run the risk of becoming anti-social with low self esteem. Not true. It's called autonomy. And AS humans, they are allowed such. A parents job is to steer them in live, NOT 'rule' over them.

No. That is not true. Children need a time of rebellion to become independent. Wise parents learn to deal with it and their kids will love them more .

Even Jesus was one time in rebellion to his parents (Luke 2, 41-50). And they reacted wise.

I question your definition of rebellion. It's probably too broad. Also, rebellion against authority isn't ALWAYS bad. Sometimes it's good to give push back to leaders, including parents.

Indeed. It isn’t our job to tell them what to think. It is our job to teach them how to think for themselves. Not all rebellion is bad. Again Lori misses the nuance on a subject.
