  1. In the pursuit of academic hubris, I’m once again considering MD/PhD programs. The only time this will matter is in two/three years, but my love of academics and theory keeps pushing me towards this. My mental health is another question.

  2. And mental health in training programs is not mandatory wellness lectures! Normalize built-in time for therapy, self-care, etc. Normalize reasonable work hours, supportive leave policies, free parking, and food vouchers!

As a reminders. Wheelchairs don’t confine people. Lack of accessibility does.

  6. I also think that Nursing is a tough profession and should be valued higher, regardless if it is an NP, RN, or Practical Nurse. While I get professional boundary making often leads to misunderstandings between NPs and MD/OD and we should be working towards the same goal.

  7. I took a detour through NP considering speed to degree and practice, however, I was steered away from it by my NP cousin on the fact that the nursing required hours for the RN would be painful for my non-nurse like personality.

  11. According to the med-ped residents association, if I did family med, I couldn't do endo or infectious disease fellowships and given that is what my bread and butter to be, I need those fellowships.

  12. In sum: I believe Democrats aren't actually doing shit right now because they're 1) committed to maintaining the white supremacist colonial power structure 2) terrified of alienating white racists and fascists 3) under the illusion that it will be possible to return to "normal".

  13. While I am in absolutely no rush (I mean I haven't started my post-bacc yet), I am probably going to shoot more for med-ped because I can do all the cool sexual health/HIV/Hormones for both adolescents and adults in the proper fellowships in endo and infectious disease

  17. So I completed the Scribe 101 course for a chance to interview with a scribe contractor. Fasinatnating and semi-overwhelming. Still want to do it and will get faster and catch more things once I am in training.

  18. So apparently I picked up a textbook that has a more biochemistry approach. Funny because I haven’t even started the thermodynamics chapter of my Gen Chem textbook.

  19. Recently started my journey to be a scribe. Admittedly harder than it seems but it’s step one to further education.
