Right. I think density passes the market test - people will pay more for a lot in total if used densely, ie they prefer it

I don't think he's correct. If we allow places to build freely that's not what we get, see e.g.
@densifyingHOU or Tokyo -
within tight constraints that's what they'll pick. But it's not what the market chooses with more freedom

Density is independently good. Other factors sometimes push against it (poor policing etc in existing dense places, zoning/planning rules)
