And that's just the theoretical model, assuming a precise measurement of phenotype. The most reasonable assumption tho until proven otherwise is that uncertainty of measurement in phenotype leads to independent variable errors that render results invalid.

...with 'results' I meant inferences about admixture based on specific phenotype measurements. I was thinking about anthropometry - whose measurement errors I have dealt with - but I guess this applies e.g. to pigmentation measurement, too.
