I always thought that the difference in height was due to different food regimes. Swedes eat a hell of a lot of meat and drink lots of milk. Didn't the Japanese post WW2 generations see a tremendous increase in height due to eating more meat?

It's related to protein intake and activation of the mTOR pathway in children and across generations. That's literally how tissue grows. Genetic tests that aren't rigorous are giving false positives.
