That will only fix for new users tho. Old installs pulled it in already.

Yeah, will talk to desktop team about how we can communicate this sensitively if it's especially widespread.

I think for 16.04 the depends should be dbus-x11 instead of dbus-user-session

I updated xdg-desktop-portal with this, so now I can apt remove dbus-user-session. It was not removed by apt autoremove though.

I don't unfortunately, brute force removing dbus-user-session and killing gnome-keyring-deamon is the accepted way on the bug report
