So when implemented a quad tree based terrain for Tides, I was inspired to do something similar with just box-entities in . The result is quite silly! But also kind of neat and mesmerizing. And clocks in at less than a hundred lines of code. #madewithdbb

So I had to rewrite those arrays as `uint4` arrays and do some clever (hacky!) casting to address them by LOD. I'm sure there are better solutions, but as I said before, I wish I was working with experienced graphics programmers and learn from them 4/N

I needed to store a different GPU Buffer handle per LOD and I thought that this would do. But those `uint`s are expanded to `uint4`s, so I was getting `0`s when addressing those array (expect for the very first one). 3/N

There are so many pitfalls with data alignment and packing rules that I feel one can only learn from more experienced graphics programmers. Reading HLSL docs was not enough, but luckily I was able to find answers online stackoverflow.com/questions/2427 2/N

I wouldn't have done it without debug layers and NVIDIA NSight. Naming buffers and inspecting them with user-defined structs is a time-saver! Now I can finally move onto the fun parts: culling, LOD-ing and instancing 🎉
