I have four parents, all over the age of 75. Randomly, three of them, in two different cities, got their first dose of COVID vaccine today. My father who has NOT received a vaccine is my parent at highest risk. He is incarcerated.

I hope he can be vaccinated soon. We should be as conscious of the health of prisoners as of everyone else. Even more so, due to overcrowding, poor attention to health issues, and the tendency to demonize people who are locked up.

They are incarcerated! There is a reason for that!

They are human beings and many or most have family members who love them. If you can’t see the humanity in so many (too many) people who are locked up, there is nothing to be said.

Seems you care most about vengeance. Not about whether enough time has been served or whether a person is still a danger to anyone.

I dunno. If you participated in a murder 40 years ago and you now realize how wrong it was—plus you are aging and ostensibly no risk to society, does that mean you are still a “murderer”?
