Is it auto enabled or do we need to enable it? I have been using the web version for last few days, and haven't seen any suggestions popping up! What an I missing?

I went back to plain old HTML. The new version is taking forever to load on three different computers. Too complicated. I want the old Gmail back.

Hi there. Have a look at this article to turn Smart Compose off: goo.gl/MvvxmN. Also, you can change your nudging preferences in Settings: Go to Gmail.com > Settings > Scroll down to Nudges. Hope that helps.
