Where there is “machine learning”, let me make it collaborative. Where there is “digital identity”, let’s make it intersectional.

When we see “virtual reality”, let’s make it a shared reality. When we see “new economy”, let’s make it a dignified economy. When we see “machine learning”, let’s make it collaborative learning. When we see “digital identity”, let’s make it intersectional identity.

thought the epigraph and first line are worth sharing. Epigraph is adaptation from 's job description: When we see “internet of things”, let’s make it an internet of beings. When we see “online democracy”, let’s make it deliberative democracy.

Think of the understanding gap between legislators and Zuckerberg at that now infamous senate committee meeting. Let's bridge that gap. The people we need to get on board have no idea what MIDS, data leakage, etc means. I want to make people care.

Because the thought space to date has been largely confined to academia, c-suites, tech media, tech experts, and unconferences. We need to broaden the thought space and make it relatable. Ownership of data is a starting point to do that.

Point being, I knocked on about 100,000 doors across Canada in a five month period last year (election), and this issue didn't come up on one door, even thought its legitimately a huge public policy concern. Why is that?

We have to make every individual understand the public policy problem first, so that legislators feel the need from the public to move. That's my job - kind of a translator. The broader community needs to them come up with the best systems to manage future state.

But in general "Vitalik and other EF elites have wrong opinions about what kinds of work are valuable" is an argument that plays right into quadratic funding being great and very important 😅. Seems like the case is strong that QF grants are at the least valuable as a complement.
