Glenn, procedurally speaking, is that even possible?
-
Uncharted territory. I’d like to think anything’s possible. But with McConnell in charge, justice seems impossible.

Great idea! Makes sense under normal court rules. Cippillone must be disbarred for this. That fraud upon the court MUST not be ignored or allowed to stand. Otherwise there will be a complete mockery & upending of fundamental basis of democracy in US.

so who do we get in touch about this.

Cipollone had a massive conflict of interest and a lot of the jurors knew about it. There was no way they could risk witnesses/documents. Declare a mistrial, add more articles, & send it back.
-
Not just Cipollini but also Johnson and Portman are implicated in the matter. Conflicts of interest all over the place that would get any other trial dismissed immediately

A mistrial sounds like a good idea, but so did the idea of a fair trial. Republican Senators likely won’t allow a mistrial because they are so desperate to deliver to President* Trump an outcome that lets him say he was acquitted. https://twitter.com/jillwinebanks/status/1224168789194964994?s=21 …https://twitter.com/mayawiley/status/1223351546160865281?s=21 …

There is no provision for “mistrial” in Senate rules. So it isn’t a realistic path. The question is will this sham produce meaningful reform of the rules. Doubtful unter the current leadership.
