    I don't know who needs to hear this but putting work in core web vitals doesn't mean that the site can't lose rankings over time. I also washed my car hundreds of times and it still left me standing on the highway.

    More from : Regarding the Page Experience Update, at most you would see subtle changes until the update fully rolls out at the end of August. And it started rolling out on 6/15. The June core update rolled out on 6/2 and July core update on 7/1:

    Via : The recent core updates were not related to core web vitals & the page experience signal. Core updates are about relevance & quality across a site. If you saw a stark drop, it's probably more related to the core updates & not Core Web Vitals:

    Great to get confirmation about this. The review snippets situation is a bug. Google is working on it. Sounds like those stars (at least some of them) will be returning. :)

    Here's an updated chart based on review snippets dropping for this site (showing a much bigger drop than yesterday...) And again, this site lost them w/the June core update, gained them with July, and now lost them again. Something very strange going on. Stay tuned.

    Regarding review rich snippets disappearing, here is one site that seems to have lost them w/the June core update & earned them back w/the July core update. Now they are gone again. You can see pick up the drop starting today. Heads-up. :)

    No author bios. No structured data. Just better content from Google's standpoint. Again, Google is evaluating many factors when determining rankings. It's very hard to game w/minor changes. So, make sure experts are writing your content, but an interesting example for sure.

    This is definitely a trend my team I’m noticing across many categories after the last update: more refined/specialized expertise outperforming generalist websites. Also noticing a trend where “the thing itself” is ranking better than “the website writing about the thing”
